This is basic training, covering the essential skills that every dog owner should start off with. You’ll work with your pup to build a solid foundation, each week covering a new building block that will create positive experiences to further reinforce desired behaviours. Trust is paramount when working with your dog in high distraction environments (the beach, the park, stores etc.) and Essentials helps you to build and reinforce the trust between dog and handler as well as create reliable, consistent and predictable behaviours and responses.

Our Essentials classes help you to build a solid understanding between dog and owner. Your dog will come to understand what to expect from you, creating a positive relationship with solid boundaries in an open, relaxed and supportive environment. We work alongside you every week, helping you to work on the skills and techniques as well as understanding what you learn.

Please note: To promote a safe, calm and valuable learning environment, we meet with every handler and dog for an in home assessment before their start of class to ensure that class is the right choice at this stage in their training journey.

Masters

Runs for 6 weeks - $240

The next round of Masters begins:
August 1st, 2020 at 9.15AM finishing September 5th, 2020.

Evening Classes: August 4th, 2020 at 7.20pm finishing September 8th, 2020.

With a solid foundation prepared from Essentials, you and your dog are ready to build on top of it with more challenges, increasing the levels of distraction and pushing your relationship further than before. This is the level that most owners attempt to begin on their own at home when first getting their dog, usually with lacklustre results and inconsistencies due to a lack of foundational bonding and understanding their dog’s psychology, ultimately putting more strain on the relationship than it can handle. However, because you have the essential skills under your belt with a bond already forming and our guidance, you’re ready to tackle more.

Masters won’t feel like training, it will feel like you’re seeing your dog through a different set of eyes and able to achieve more with them than you thought possible. Once completed you’ll be ready to take on what the world can throw at you and be ready to calmly respond accordingly with a level of knowledge and understanding that results in a symbiotic relationship between handler and dog. Before you can run, you need to learn to walk - you’ve learned to walk in Essentials and now you’re ready to run.

Real World

Runs for 6 weeks - $240

The next round of Real World begins:

August 1st, 2020 at 1.00pm finishing Sept 5th, 2020.

Please get in touch if you’re interested in signing up for our classes

If Essentials is learning to walk and Masters is learning to run then Real World is training for your first marathon. You’re already out with your dog, you have reliable commands and are able to understand your dog in different situations, advocating for them and constantly trying for more - but sometimes at the beach their recall isn’t the best, or occasionally at the park they can get huffy at other dogs. This class is out in public, in the real world, so that we can work through real scenarios in real locations that you visit all over the Coast.

From walking the Orewa strip to off lead fun at the Estuary, this class helps you to fine tune out in public experiences and really solidify the amazing bond you’ve come to form with your dog.

Ever wanted to socialise your dog in a safe, fenced and monitored space? Maybe your dog needs practice with other dogs but you don’t want to risk it with the neighbourhood dogs at the park? If you’re tired of feeling overwhelmed every time you take your dog out and want some stability in their play sessions then our Social Hour every Saturday is perfect for you. Warwick and Brittany will be there to answer any questions and monitor the play, so feel free to pick their brains.

Social Hour takes place on Saturday mornings from 10:30 until 11:30 at our property in Stillwater, costs $10 cash and bookings are essential as there are only 8 spots per Saturday.
